Ben Coda biography
Ben formed production outfit Overcast in 2006. Looking to take his music in a harder, more dancefloor oriented direction, Ben went solo at the end of 2008 with a trio of remixes for seminal label Toes in the Sand. All three received widespread DJ support and glowing reviews on www.music-critics.com:
Well, where to begin with Ben's productions? I only recently discovered the man a few months ago (thanks Toes!), and I've loved everything he's touched. www.music-critics.com.
Ben was signed by Baroque Records in early 2009, and had three solo releases with them over the year - 'Human Movement', 'Shape the Future' and 'Reflections' - all received widespread support and confirmed Ben's status as one of the most exciting upcoming producers around. One of the highlights of 2009 was Ben's remix of the massive 'Chords' by Shiloh, released in October on Polytechnic Recordings.
2010 sees Ben keeping up his busy studio schedule with remixes on the way for Spherax recordings, Sonny Wharton's 'Whartone' label and Jetlag Digital, as well as new original material on Baroque and some exciting collaborations in the pipeline.
'This is an absolute monster love it!' Sonny Wharton on Ben's remix of 'Sonny Wharton and Digital Impression - Salinas', due out on Whartone in 2010.'
An electric journey of tech and prog house
Ben's tech-prog sound crosses boundaries - tough beats and rolling basslines contrast with soaring melodies, fusing Ben's love of the tougher sounds of techno and tech house with classic progressive house.
Ben is also a talented DJ, and has played at top clubs both in UK and abroad, including the Ministry of Sound, the Fridge and the Custard Factory. As at home on a pair of CDJs or Technics as he is using the latest digital DJ software, Ben's seamless sets are an electric journey of tech and prog house sure to rock any dancefloor.
With a growing DJ schedule, a monthly radio show on Danceradio Global and some serious original and remix material coming up, Ben Coda is definitely one to watch!
